Vernon's Community Centre For Seniors

Activities

History

The Schubert Centre we know & enjoy today is the result of a "dream" that originated with the Knights of Columbus in 1964. Through a lot of hard work & fundraising, the plans for Schubert Centre came to fruition when the building opened in 1984.
Thanks to all the countless hours provided by a group of volunteers, the Schubert Centre Society was created in 1991 to assume the role of manager of the facility.

The Centre is located near where Vernon pioneer James Schubert built the first house in Vernon on 32nd Avenue. The east wall of our building displays a mural depicting this connection.

Schubert Centre has a board of directors which is elected from the membership, by the membership.
